How to Make a Self Care Calendar ✨

Recently, I have been focusing on self care more than any other period in my life. I’ve been a little more stressed lately and by prioritizing self care activities I’ve been able to curb my stress and anxious thoughts. I decided to make a little happy calendar that would encourage me to do different self care activities. So here is a peak at my little happy calendar as well as a list of self care suggestions and a how-to for those wanting to make your own!

Steps to Make a Self Care Calendar:

Grab a Blank Calendar

I started with a calendar I bought at the dollar store because I wanted the most plain calendar I could find. By getting a plain calendar I figured I would be able to write, draw and color all over it and really make it meaningful. See my calendar choice below.

Write Out Some Self Care Activities

Start writing out a list of ways to care for yourself. I was able to kind of separate out the ideas, so I was doing a variety of self care activities. Some of my inspiration came from holidays! I made the month of April more about self care that revolved around helping the environment and making a difference. Check out the picture below!

Add Some Art and Color

After I wrote out some ideas I started to doodle and color around them. Color personally makes me happy so I wanted to make the pages something that would bring a smile to my face. If you love minimalism try doing a gray scale calendar and use simple doodles for an aesthetic that will make you grin.

Enjoy the Process

Not only is this calendar useful to help you prioritize self care but it also is a relaxing activity in itself. Don’t rush or stress about finishing the calendar. Take your time and enjoy it! Maybe consider doing one month at a time before you start the new month. That way you can stay inspired and really be mindful with your activity choices.

I went ahead and did six months over a couple days. I am going to wait until May to do the summer months because I feel I will be more inspired then on ways to destress and relax in the summer.
