I wanted to put together this list of sustainable finds I bought on Amazon when I was a low waste beginner just starting out. Some of them are very basic and easy swaps to make and some of them are specific things I bought online because I wasn’t able to find exactly what I wanted locally. I hope you enjoy this list of sustainable finds and if you happen to buy any through the links provided I appreciate your support for the Creative and Ambitious Blog!

Bamboo Tooth Brushes
We’ll start with Bamboo Tooth Brushes. This is one of the easiest swaps to make in my opinion. It was one of my first sustainable finds! It’s fairly simple get rid of that plastic toothbrush once you’re done with it and pop a bamboo toothbrush into your toothbrush holder. Since you brush your teeth every day it will be easy to get into a routine. Once you don’t have a plastic (or any other) option it will be easy to stick with the swap.
I’ve tried a few different brands and styles now. I want to stress that not all bamboo toothbrushes are made equal. The first one I had was a little bulky and the head of the brush was thick so it rubbed on my cheeks quite a bit. I then tried one I was given for free with a purchase and it was a significantly nicer brush just because it was thinner and didn’t rub on my cheeks. I’ve linked the style of brush that I prefer that is a little thinner above.
TOP TIP: Don’t let water get into the bottom of your tooth brush holder. Bamboo can’t sit in water or it will start to break down. That’s why it’s so great for the environment! If you have water in the bottom of your holder often, lay your bamboo toothbrush across the top to avoid any issues with moisture.

Lint Brush
This lint brush was something that I bought most recently. I am honestly so happy with this find. I wanted something that would remove hair, lint, and also to remove any pilling on my sweaters. This is the perfect alternative to the typical sticky paper lint roller. This metal linter remover is seriously amazing. It works so great. I love that I can remove the pilling on my sweaters because I live in sweaters and cardigans. I want to keep them in great shape so they last me a long time!
TOP TIP: My advice for this lint remover is to practice on something that’s not your favorite sweater first. It takes a little bit of technique to avoid snags. But once you have it down, you will be so happy with the swap. I tested it on my couch pillows first. They look great now! This was one of my sustainable finds and it has really helped to maintain my wardrobe.

Glass Spray Bottles
I am in love with these spray bottles. I didn’t want to buy a plastic bottle that would be difficult to recycle at the end of the bottle’s life cycle. If we are being honest, I also just loved the look of the darker glass too. I bought these bottles to put my DIY All Purpose Orange Peel Cleaner in. I love using the bottles and they came with a funnel to make filling easy. The black labels are chalkboard like so they can be erased and rewritten. That will come in handy when I try to make a new scent of cleaner.

Safety Razor
I bought a Zomchi Safety Razor form Amazon after I saw the same style of razors on instagram selling for $75+. I wanted a safety razor that would allow me to spend less on disposable razors and reduce the amount of plastic I was using. The Zomchi Razor is $26.99 on Amazon and comes with five replacement razor blades. It provides a close shave and I have less razor burn after switching to it. I love my safety razor!
The blades are easy to replace too. All you have to do is twist off the top, take out the old blade, and replace it with a new one. Zomchi is a great brand and I have actually partnered with them in the past for a giveaway. (Keep your eyes peeled for an Easter giveaway). The Zomchi Razor also fits all double Edge Razor Blades that can be purchased in quantities of 50 or 100. My favorite part about this razor is that it comes in a rose gold color (other colors are available). It’s beautiful and so nice to use.

Delicates Wash Bags
I was on the search for mesh wash bags after I sewed my first makeup remover rounds. I wanted to be able to keep them together in the washer and dryer instead of finding them in my socks, leggings, and sleeves. This three pack allowed me to use the small one for my cotton rounds and to use the other sizes for tank tops that our dryer was shredding. (We’ve moved now and don’t have this issue anymore). These bags are nice quality and were a good value. I am hoping to bring the biggest one on my next trip to sort dirt and clean clothes!
TOP TIP: Hang this bag in your washing area so you can put your cotton rounds in as you use them!

Coffee Grinder
I looked everywhere for a simple coffee grinder that wasn’t electric. I checked thrift stores, asked family to keep an eye out for one, and checked major retailers to see if they had any. All the options I saw were electric and I really just wanted something I could do by hand. I have a French press and really enjoy grinding espresso beans to make a highly caffeinated afternoon pick me up.
Before I purchase, I looked at a lot of options on amazon before I decided on this one. I liked that this one has two bottom jars to hold beans or grinds for me. It’s simple and easy to use. If you’re on the hunt for a manual coffee grinder like I was, this is a great sustainable find.

Mesh Grocery Shopping Bag
This wasn’t really a low waste necessity but it’s one of my favorite sustainable finds. I just really wanted a grocery bag that could expand to hold all of my fruits and veggies. Plus, I am a big believer in loving the things you use and have. If you don’t love it or find it useful, why do you have it? I bought this bag and for me it was a great purchase but you don’t need it to live a low waste life. Any other reusable grocery bag you have will help you to live sustainably.

Bees Wax Wraps
I am still working to use bees wax wraps more. I bought a pack of three and have found them useful for covering bowls. The biggest benefit of beeswax wraps is that they can be used to replace plastic wrap. So far they have been easy to care for and I love having an alternative to plastic wrap.

Bella Bee Lip Balm
I am so excited about my Bella Bee Lip Balm sustainable find. You can find them on Amazon or in select stores. Bella Bee is a company based in Wisconsin. They thoughtfully source their ingredients, donate to honey bee research, and keep used containers out of landfills through their Landfill Free recycling program. The company is fair trade certified and are a cruelty free brand.
I love supporting them because they are a super sustainable brand with an amazing product. I love wearing Bella Bee lip balm. It makes my lips so soft and smooth. The main ingredient of their handmade lip balm is beeswax sourced from Wisconsin. I currently am using the candy cane flavor from Christmas but I cannot recommend this brand enough.

The Zero Waste Cookbook
As part of my sustainable journey I am really working to reduce the food that I waste. This book helps you to transform food scraps into delicious recipes! I have tried a few recipes so far and can’t wait to keep learning ways to reduce my food waste. You can find this book (used or new) on Amazon or you can find it on Thriftbooks.com. Any book or cookbook that you can buy used, is a great way to switch your finds into sustainable finds.
